HEIRS® will now publish members' letters on its website! Letters will be published verbatim with the member's name, submission date and brief bio at the top. While HEIRS® will not always agree with you, it will not edit letters or add comment. You are solely responsible for its content. HEIRS® reserves the right to reject submissions which it considers inappropriate for whatever reason. Be sure that information is factual. While you may have strong feelings about the manner in which your trust/estate has been (or is being) administered, avoid slanderous or otherwise uncomplimentary language. (The facts should speak for themselves!) If your executor or trustee is a bank or trust company, preferably use its actual name since real names make for a more interesting presentation. Otherwise, simply refer to 'the bank' or 'the trust company' rather than create a fictitious name. (If the executor or trustee is an individual, however, it is strongly suggested that a fictitious name be used.) Submission via e-mail is much preferred! Maintain reader interest by limiting your contribution to two single-spaced pages; make an extended version available by fax or mail if requested. Your dated letter should include a) name, address, email (optional) and/or phone number (optional) so that others can contact you, b) permission for HEIRS® to publish your story verbatim on its website, c) confirmation that you are the author and accept full responsibility for its content, and d) a brief bio (optional). This is a rare opportunity to offer suggestions for improving the administration of trusts and estates. Our website is accessed not just by prospective settlors and beneficiaries but by academia, trust/estate lawyers, banks, private trust companies, the media and even government officials. Your experiences will help to improve a system which sorely needs to change! For further information, kindly call Standish Smith at (610) 525-4442. Our Latest
